The Assembly Quartet is a professional chamber music ensemble whose mission is to promote music education and expand the enjoyment of music for people of all ages. The Quartet’s principal objective is to engage with audiences in public schools and communities, working with students and audiences that often have limited experience with chamber music or with the music of our time.
Committed to furthering the saxophone quartet repertoire, Assembly has pioneered the Saxophone Quartet “+” genre, established a robust Pedagogy Project repertoire, and commissioned concerti in recent years. Featured composers from these projects include Marilyn Shrude, Katahj Copley, Avner Dorman, Gala Flagello, David Maslanka, John Mackey, Steven Bryant, Russell Holland, and Grace Baugher. The Assembly Quartet is a versatile ensemble, comfortable performing a wide variety of styles from orchestral pops to virtuosic avant-garde.
The Half-Assembled Trio is a chamber music ensemble made up of Jeffrey Heisler (soprano saxophone), Adam Estes (baritone saxophone), and I-Chen Yeh (piano). They formed in 2023, have presented at conferences, and have toured nationally where they perform concerts and teach master classes. They will record their debut album in 2025.
